BriefOur brief was to up-date an existing basic studio area to provide a digital widescreen facility. The space and the budget were limited and one of the main criteria was to provide access for wheelchair users. SolutionThe system is based around the Pansonic AW800 camera with autocue and SDI interface. Although Panasonic formed the basis of the system the client preferred to use a mixture of manufacturers products and with our unbiased opinions we could offer the best solution and therefore products resulting in a very prestigious broadcast facility. The system comprised Pinnacle Deko CG, Yamaha Audio Mixer and Sony LCD monitors with DVD and DV recorder. We also utilised existing analogue formats which we were able to accommodate using the Snell and Wilcox Vision Mixer. The custom built desk was designed to allow access for wheelchair users and able-bodied within the same control area. The studio is complimented by a series of on-line and off-line Avid editing systems all operating with an Editshare Media Server System. |
