Siren FM is the brand new fulltime Community Radio station being launched by the University of Lincoln and our brief was to design and create a live radio studio and production centre for this exciting new venture.
Built around a suite of four rooms the centre houses two live radio studio’s (Studio 1A and 1B), a music and ‘talks’ room and a production office.
The live studios are based around the Alice Air 2000 Broadcast desk, with professional Tascam Minidisc and CD playback and recording.
The playout and automation system uses the Psquared Myriad software, with the majority of music, jingles, adverts, voice links and pre-recorded items stored on the Myriad workstation.
As all the areas of the studio centre are interlinked we have provided a high level of logic and cueing control, with the control room monitors, on-air lights, live studio routing and all audio sources remote controlled by the Alice desk.
The main studios feature bespoke furniture designed and built in-house to accommodate all equipment, the radio presenter and a number of guests.
Siren FM and Quadrant – providing community programming to Lincolnshire all day, every day.
